Historic industrial buildings are significant carriers of human civilization, with their unique philosophical value becoming increasingly prominent. This paper explores the philosophical foundations of the conservation and reuse of historic industrial buildings in the Mediterranean region from a multidisciplinary perspective, focusing on cultural identity, sustainability, and social value. By analyzing the philosophical concepts underlying the preservation of historic industrial buildings, we identify the core elements of industrial building conservation. We elaborate on the cultural identity intentions of historic industrial building conservation through triggering cultural identity emotions in the conservation atmosphere, exploring the cultural identity intentions of industrial building interface materials, and visualizing the cultural identity concepts of the philosophy of building revitalization. Additionally, we investigate the sustainable development forms of industrial building conservation and discuss the historical, urban existence, and socio-cultural values of historic industrial building conservation, providing theoretical support for the rational protection and reuse of historical buildings.
