Multicultural Integration in Music Education: An Archaeological and Archaeometric Perspective in the Mediterranean Region
Abstract
This paper explores the necessity and implementation strategies of integrating multicultural education into music teaching from an interdisciplinary perspective of Mediterranean archaeology and archaeometry. Initially, it elucidates the fundamental concepts of multicultural education and its archaeological characteristics in music education, establishing a relevant theoretical framework. Subsequently, it analyzes the impact of cultural diversity on educational equity and the significance of cultural inclusiveness in music education, substantiating the necessity of music teaching from archaeological and multicultural viewpoints. In the practical section, the paper proposes design methods and teaching strategies for multicultural content in music education, emphasizing the transformation of teachers' roles. Through comparative analysis of domestic and international cases, it reveals the challenges and corresponding countermeasures in practice. This study aims to promote a higher level of cultural integration in music education, fostering educational equity and respect for cultural diversity, thereby offering new insights into Mediterranean archaeology and cultural heritage management.
