Interdisciplinary Study on the Integration of Archaeology and Musical Culture in the Mediterranean Region

This paper aims to explore the interdisciplinary connections between archaeological findings in the Mediterranean region and ancient Chinese musical culture. Firstly, it analyzes musical artifacts from archaeological sites using multiscientific approaches to reveal their historical evolution and cultural lineage. Secondly, it integrates natural science techniques in archaeometry, such as dating, compositional analysis, and remote sensing, to delve into the origins and dissemination of ancient musical instruments. The third part emphasizes the significant role of environmental archaeology and biomolecular archaeology in uncovering the ecological background of ancient musical cultures. Additionally, the paper discusses the application of digital archaeology in cultural heritage conservation and the influence of ancient astronomy on musical culture. Through interdisciplinary comprehensive research, this study provides theoretical references for deepening the understanding of musical cultures in the Mediterranean region and ancient China, promoting exchange and collaboration between archaeology and musicology.
