Abstract

With the rapid advancement of digital technology, the application of digital archaeological techniques in the field of archaeology has become increasingly widespread. This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of case studies involving the application of digital archaeological techniques in ancient cultural sites in the Mediterranean region, exploring how digital technology influences archaeological excavation, site preservation, and cultural heritage management. It is found that digital technology not only provides new methods and tools for archaeological work, significantly enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of site excavations, but also enriches the display and dissemination of cultural heritage, enhancing public engagement and experience. However, the application of digital technology also introduces new challenges such as data security and technological ethics, necessitating a balanced approach that enjoys the benefits of technological advancements while addressing potential negative impacts and seeking effective integration of technology and archaeology.
