Abstract

Chinese folk culture and art constitute a significant part of traditional Chinese culture, characterized by distinctive national traits and a profound historical context, embodying the practical manifestation of traditional Chinese philosophical and aesthetic ideas in folklore. From an epistemological perspective, folk culture and art are not static but undergo continuous development and evolution. Their progression is influenced by the interaction between "people" and "things." "People" in this context refers to individuals, groups, and social entities that create, disseminate, and accept folk culture and art. "Things" encompass the natural environment, humanistic landscapes, and various material and non-material elements. Within the framework of multidisciplinary archaeological research, this paper explores how interdisciplinary approaches, including archaeology, anthropology, and environmental archaeology, can deepen our understanding of the essence of folk culture and art. It further examines the timely application and guidance of epistemological philosophy in the interaction between "people" and "things" to effectively preserve and promote folk culture and art, providing new insights into cultural heritage management.
