The Mediterranean region, with its rich archaeological history, has nurtured traditional painting techniques that have formed a unique artistic style and technical system over millennia. However, in the era of digitalization, these traditional techniques are increasingly integrating with digital technologies, giving rise to a novel art form. This study aims to explore the innovative evolution of traditional painting techniques in the Mediterranean region under the influence of digitalization. Firstly, we provide an overview of the digitalization wave and its impact on archaeology and the arts, analyzing the content and characteristics of traditional techniques in various painting forms such as watercolor, ink painting, oil painting, and drawing. Building on this, we establish the basic conditions for innovation through the digital transformation of painting materials and tools, optimize post-painting processing and modification, and conduct edge detail processing. The color balance of the artworks is adjusted and corrected through automatic color mixing and conversion, ultimately utilizing the complexity and variety of painting styles to present the characteristics of modern social painting, completing the research on the complexity and diversity of painting styles. Maintaining the essence of traditional techniques while actively exploring the possibilities of digital innovation is of great significance for the continuous development and innovation of painting art.
