Abstract

This paper explores the theoretical and practical foundations of the Healthy China Strategy from a multidisciplinary archaeological perspective. By analyzing the thoughts on life and health in China's excellent traditional culture, Marx's Life Philosophy, and the sinicized Marxist concept of "people's health," it reveals the theoretical origins of the Healthy China Strategy. The concept of "taking people's health as the foundation" in Marx's Life Philosophy forms the core of the strategic theory of Healthy China, with its value rooted in the essence of Marx's Life Philosophy— "people first, life first." The Healthy China Strategy creatively applies and develops the fundamental principle of historical materialism that the people are the subjects of social history and the creators of history. In promoting the implementation of the Healthy China Strategy, it deeply embodies the life practice meaning of Marxism—realizing the free and comprehensive development of human beings. Archaeological methods and techniques, such as environmental archaeology and bioarchaeology, provide crucial evidence for understanding ancient human health and lifestyles, further enriching the empirical basis of the Healthy China Strategy.
