Abstract

The relationship between translation and original has always been a difficult point in the act of translation, especially when it comes to translations about classical literature. And among them, the translation of classical Chinese poetry is especially typical. Based on Antoine Berman's analyses of the relationship between original and translation, which is characterised by a reciprocal engendering, this paper will explore the excavation and creation of the original by translation, the risks and violence to the original that result from this process, and the positive effects of the risks and violence of translation on the excavation of the original's potential and the facilitation of its rebirth.
