Abstract

The traditional meridian and acupuncture point charts, serving as a unique form of imagery to assist acupuncture in China, embody profound practical experience and scientific research value in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), showcasing the creativity and profound wisdom of the Chinese nation. However, these charts are often presented in static and planar forms, with text used to complement the descriptions of meridians and acupuncture points, lacking sufficient aesthetic appeal and fun, resulting in poor information communication. To better inherit and develop the meridian and acupuncture point culture, this paper first analyzes the historical development of traditional meridian and acupuncture point charts, summarizing their inherent aesthetic characteristics and formal beauty. Subsequently, by combining modern digital visual technology, innovative presentation methods of meridian and acupuncture point charts are proposed. This new form aims to eliminate the boredom felt when receiving complex meridian and acupuncture point culture through multidimensional audiovisual experiences, enhancing user engagement and information reception efficiency. Ultimately, this paper aims to realize the transformation of meridian and acupuncture point culture from theory to practice, promoting its wider dissemination and enhancing its practical value, enabling this precious cultural heritage of TCM to radiate new charm.
