Abstract

From an archaeological perspective, the end of the 20th century witnessed significant transformations in the national character of Russian drama. The implementation of new cultural policies led to the infiltration of Western postmodernist trends, eroding the traditional national characteristics of Russian drama. As Russian drama integrated into the international drama environment, it gradually shifted towards contemporary linguistic styles, avoiding direct audience engagement and public expression of ideas. Playwrights actively explored new forms of artistic expression, seeking innovative pathways within the shared cultural space. This process not only reflected the inheritance and breakthrough of the Russian dramatic tradition but also provided crucial insights into the evolution of contemporary drama.
