Abstract

Ethnic songs are closely intertwined with the local natural environment, customs, and religious beliefs, exhibiting distinct styles and cultural connotations among different ethnic groups. This paper focuses on ethnic songs from the Mediterranean region, examining their artistic style characteristics and their archaeological value in vocal music teaching. By analyzing the artistic style features of these songs, we delve into the national emotions they encapsulate. The current state of vocal music teaching is discussed, along with the identification of teaching challenges. The value of these folk songs in vocal education is explored from three perspectives: skill refinement, highlighting the training value; inheritance and promotion, emphasizing their cultural significance; and emotional expression, underscoring their role in emotional education. Through this research, we aim to integrate the diverse musical cultures of the Mediterranean region into vocal music teaching, broadening students' musical horizons, enhancing their musical literacy, and playing a crucial role in the preservation of ethnic musical heritage.
