Abstract

The pre-Qin period was a crucial stage in the development of Chinese music culture, with bronze musical instruments occupying a central role in the realms of etiquette, religion, and military affairs. These instruments not only exhibit a high level of technical sophistication in materials and production processes but also possess significant artistic value in terms of sound quality, form, and the cultural connotations they embody. This paper explores the artistic value of pre-Qin bronze musical instruments and their pivotal functions in ancient society by analyzing their material composition, acoustic characteristics, and craft aesthetics. From interdisciplinary perspectives encompassing archaeology, musicology, and art history, the paper systematically examines the status of pre-Qin bronze musical instruments in ritual and musical culture, revealing the organic integration of their artistic features and social functions.

Through an in-depth study of pre-Qin bronze instruments, the paper further discusses their influence on modern music education. As emblems of ancient music culture, bronze musical instruments not only offer unique acoustic effects but also hold profound cultural symbolism and educational enlightenment. The paper argues that modern music education should emphasize interdisciplinary integration, incorporating the cultural background, production techniques, and acoustic properties of traditional musical instruments into teaching practices. Particularly in the teaching of instrument making and performance, students can be guided to deepen their understanding of the intimate connection between music and culture through the imitation and innovation of bronze musical instruments, thereby enhancing their comprehensive capabilities in music creation and performance. Additionally, the paper suggests that modern music education should strengthen the inheritance of traditional culture by introducing these historical instruments and musical elements into the classroom, promoting the diversified development of art education.

This research not only fills a gap in the study of the relationship between the artistic value of pre-Qin bronze musical instruments and modern music education but also provides a new perspective and reference for future music education. Through this exploration, the paper aims to uncover the contemporary application potential of the artistic value of pre-Qin bronze musical instruments, fostering the effective preservation and innovation of cultural heritage in modern education.
