Song Dynasty painting, as one of the peaks of ancient Chinese art, exhibits highly mature painting techniques and rich artistic connotations, particularly in figure modeling, which embodies profound cultural and aesthetic values. This paper analyzes the artistic characteristics of figure modeling in the Song Dynasty to explore its position in art history and its unique aesthetic expression. Song Dynasty figure painting, with its exquisite lines, delicate depiction, and unique charm, reflects a blend of realism and freehand styles, creating an aesthetic image with a strong sense of the times. With the vigorous development of modern film and television art, the integration of traditional art and contemporary culture has garnered increasing attention. This paper further examines the application and innovation of Song Dynasty figure painting in modern film and television art, focusing on how this ancient artistic element can be inherited and reinterpreted through cinematic works. By analyzing specific cases of Song Dynasty figure modeling in movies, TV dramas, animations, and games, this paper demonstrates the elevating effect of Song Dynasty figure modeling on the connotation of modern film and television art, particularly its profound influence on emotional expression, character development, and cultural image representation. Additionally, the paper discusses the re-interpretation of traditional figure modeling elements in modern visual media, analyzing their cross-temporal value in visual expression, cultural connotation, and emotional transmission.
