Psychological Preparation and Emotional Regulation in Vocal Performance: A Psychological Analysis of Stage Presence
Abstract
Vocal music performance is a highly emotional art form, in addition to the skill and artistry, the role of the performer's psychological state in the performance can not be ignored. This paper discusses the influence of psychological preparation and emotional regulation on stage performance in vocal music performance from the perspective of psychology. Vocal singing is not only a technical display, but also a kind of emotional expression and psychological experience, so psychological preparation and emotional regulation have become important factors affecting the quality of stage performance. This paper aims to reveal its practical application and psychological significance in vocal performance by analyzing psychological preparation skills, emotional regulation methods and psychological analysis of stage performance. First of all, this paper reviews the common psychological phenomena in vocal performance, such as stage fear, performance anxiety and emotional resonance, and points out that these psychological factors may have a negative impact on the performance of performers during performance. Then, the paper discusses in detail the concept of mental preparation and its importance in vocal performance, focusing on relaxation training, meditation, mindfulness and other commonly used mental preparation techniques, which can help performers regulate emotions, reduce tension, enhance self-confidence, and improve performance quality. At the same time, this paper also discusses the theoretical basis and practical application of emotion regulation, and analyzes how emotion regulation skills (such as emotion transformation, cognitive reconstruction, etc.) can help performers maintain a good emotional state during the performance and enhance the transmission of emotion. On the practical application level, this paper discusses the similarities and differences in mental preparation and emotional regulation of different performers through case analysis and empirical research, and the specific impact of these psychological factors on stage performance. It is found that psychological preparation and emotional regulation have a significant impact on the quality of vocal performance. A good psychological state can not only improve the performance and appeal of performers, but also show a more comfortable and natural singing state on the stage. In addition, this paper also analyzes the performers' coping strategies when facing stage fear and performance anxiety, and proposes corresponding psychological intervention methods to help performers overcome these psychological barriers. Finally, this paper summarizes the positive effects of psychological preparation and emotional regulation on vocal performance, and puts forward the prospect of future research. Future studies can further explore the impact of psychological intervention techniques on vocal performance, especially in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary contexts, to explore how performers in different cultural backgrounds cope with psychological challenges and adopt different psychological adjustment methods to improve performance.
