Cultural Security in Digital Art Creation: Ethics and Challenges in the Digital Reproduction of Traditional Symbols
Abstract
With the rapid development of digital technology, digital art creation has gradually become one of the important forms of expression in the field of contemporary art. In this process, the digital representation of traditional cultural symbols has become an issue that cannot be ignored. These symbols carry profound cultural connotation and historical value. However, with their wide application in digital art works, the reproduction of traditional symbols has also caused many ethical and cultural security problems. The purpose of this paper is to explore the cultural security, ethical challenges and possible cultural risks in the digital representation of traditional symbols in digital art creation, especially in the context of increasingly globalized and technological contemporary society. Starting with the concept of cultural security, this study analyzes how digital art creation involves the core issues of cultural identity, cultural diversity and cultural inheritance. With the popularization of digital technology, the representation of traditional symbols is not only the medium of cultural transmission, but also the embodiment of cultural values and ethical norms. However, the de-culturalization, alienation and misreading of symbols in the process of digitization may lead to the misuse and abuse of traditional cultural symbols, thus threatening the independence and self-identity of culture. Secondly, this paper discusses the ethical issues in digital art creation in detail. Especially among art creators, technology developers and audiences, how to ensure that the cultural background of symbols is not ignored in the creation process and avoid cultural appropriation and misinterpretation? Through the analysis of typical cases, this paper reveals many challenges in the digital representation of traditional symbols, including cultural homogenization, cultural appropriation, and digital copyright issues. These problems not only affect the standardization of artistic creation, but also relate to the overall maintenance of cultural security. Finally, this paper puts forward several targeted countermeasures aimed at ensuring the correct use of cultural symbols through legal, moral and cultural education levels to ensure the long-term sustainability of cultural security in digital art creation. By strengthening ethical norms and education on cultural safety, constructive suggestions are put forward to help creators better understand and respect the deep meaning of traditional cultural symbols in digital art creation, while promoting respect and protection of cultural diversity. This study not only provides a theoretical basis for cultural security in digital art creation, but also deeply reflects on cultural ethics in the process of digitalization, which has high academic value and social significance.
