A Probe into the Value of “Fuzzy Beauty” of the Lines of "Shimen Thirteen Stone Carvings"

Abstract

“ Shimen Thirteen Stone Carvings” present outstanding personality and aesthetic meaning with their unique lines as artistic language, and have an important position in the history of Chinese calligraphy. This article takes the lines of “Shimen Thirteen” as the starting point, and from the aesthetic attributes of “fuzzy beauty” of Shimen Thirteen’s lines, summarizes their rich textures which improve people's aesthetic sense, stimulate people's awareness of aesthetic innovation and enrich the aesthetic level, and eventually, they are in accordance with the ultimate aesthetic core of calligraphy: "unity between man and nature".
