The Historical Value and Artistic Influence of Jiangnan Scholar-Painting Wood Carving Art in the Qing Dynasty
Abstract
The wood carving art of Jiangnan literati painting in Qing Dynasty is a unique form of traditional Chinese art, which combines the pen and ink of literati painting with the carving techniques of wood carving, and embodies the artistic aesthetic and cultural pursuit of the literati class in Jiangnan area in Qing Dynasty. This paper aims to explore the historical value and artistic influence of Jiangnan literati painting and wood carving art in Qing Dynasty. First, it reviews the historical origin and development of Jiangnan literati painting and wood carving art, and reveals the integration and innovation of the two in Qing Dynasty. Through the analysis of typical woodcarving works of literati painting, this paper studies its artistic skills, cultural connotation and historical background, and then explains how this art form became an important part of Jiangnan culture and had a profound impact on the artistic creation of Qing Dynasty and later generations.
In terms of historical value, this paper analyzes the unique position of Jiangnan literati wood carving art in Chinese traditional art history by examining its technique, subject matter and form innovation, especially the achievements made in the integration of the innovation of wood carving technique and the expression of literati painting.
