Abstract

As a key link in music performance, piano tuning not only ensures the accuracy of pitch, but also plays a decisive role in the presentation of timbre and tone quality. Different musical styles have significant differences in the requirements of piano sound quality, especially in classical and modern piano works, there are great differences in the control requirements of sound quality. Classical works usually emphasize the stability of pitch and the balance of timbre, while modern works are more inclined to the diversity of timbre and the richness of expression. Through the historical background and theoretical analysis of piano tuning, combined with experimental research and case analysis, this paper discusses how to adjust piano tuning according to the needs of different music styles. The study shows that the adaptability of piano tuning in classical and modern music works shows obvious stylistic differences. Classical music tuning focuses more on the precision of pitch and the unity of timbre, while modern music tuning emphasizes the free change and dynamic performance of timbre. Through experiments and concrete analysis of the works, this paper further reveals the influence of piano tuning on the sound quality, especially how to achieve the artistic effect of the works through tuning. The research results provide theoretical basis for piano players, tuners and composers in tuning practice, and put forward suggestions on how to better adapt to different musical styles in the actual tuning process.
