Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of ideological and political education with archaeology, specifically examining the moral education within Mediterranean civilizations and its relevance to contemporary educational practices. Addressing the challenge of bridging ancient wisdom with modern pedagogy, we employ a hybrid methodology that melds qualitative and quantitative analyses. Data are sourced from archaeological records, historical texts, modern educational databases, and surveys of educators and archaeologists. Frequency analysis of moral concepts in ancient sources identified key themes such as justice, courage, and wisdom. Survey responses revealed robust support for incorporating archaeological insights into ideological education, highlighting the importance of historical context. Comparative analysis illuminated both the holistic nature of ancient educational practices and the specialized focus of modern approaches. Our findings indicate that integrating lessons from Mediterranean civilizations can significantly enrich current moral education, fostering a more comprehensive and contextually grounded pedagogical framework. This research validates the potential of interdisciplinary approaches in enhancing educational outcomes.
