This paper analyzes the functions of traditional social exercise forms, such as Tai Chi, Wu Qin Xi, and Yoga, and explores their application in modern higher education sports curricula. These traditional exercises, deeply rooted in cultural contexts, offer multifaceted benefits including physiological enhancements, psychological well-being, and social cohesion. In modern higher education, the inclusion of these practices addresses the growing demand for holistic well-being and provides a culturally rich educational experience. The paper outlines the challenges in current physical education and proposes a strategic approach for integrating traditional exercises into university sports curricula, emphasizing the importance of preserving their cultural essence while adapting to contemporary student needs. Case studies demonstrate the successful application of these practices, highlighting the significance of effective marketing, qualified instructors, and modern teaching tools. The integration process is systematically approached through a structured flowchart, ensuring scalability and adaptability. The research posits that incorporating traditional social exercise forms will significantly enhance students’ overall well-being and engagement in physical education.
